How to Use
Reflex Ankle Foot Orthosis is designed to ensure lateral stability and support for the ankle and foot, and to provide assistance with foot drop associated with weakness or paralysis of the muscles involved in lifting the front part of the foot. Conditions that may lead to foot drop may include hemiplegia, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, weakness of weak anterior tibialis muscle, lower motor neuron (LMN) disease, and some other conditions. The splint can also be used for post-op immobilization after tendon surgery.
The ankle foot orthosis is made of lightweight durable thermoplastic material and features an anatomical leaf spring design with variable thickness throughout the splint. Thicker rigid vertical part of the AFO provides strong lateral stability for the entire foot-ankle area and static dorsiflexion assistance, supporting the foot at 90o angle. Thinner footplate allows for a more comfortable wearing experience without hindering essential movement.
Padded hook-and-loop strap secures the brace around the calf; another removable padded strap can be used to secure the orthosis around the ankle. Velcro fastening on the straps allows to adjust the fit.
The low arch and open heel design give the AFO a streamlined profile that takes up minimal space in the shoe.
Due to its innovative features, the Reflex Ankle Foot Orthosis offers instant relief and support, keeping the foot and ankle in a comfortable yet stable position, and allowing to continue being active.
Available for both the right and the left leg.
